July 4th weekend, members of the Gainesville International Socialist Organization will be attending Socialism 2011, Revolution in the Air (http://www. socialismconference.org/). This annual conference, sponsored by the Center for Economic Research and Social Change, brings together activists, students, authors, professors, and revolutionaries to engage in political education and discussion, make connections with people around the world, learn from people’s struggles, and ultimately, promote social change throughout the world. This is an experience that you cannot miss! The convention will return passionate and informed activists back home, inspired and amped for grass roots activism! It is a wonderful opportunity not only for the individual, but for the community, and for network building across the United States and internationally. Check out more about Socialism 2011; with this trailer (http://vimeo.com/23997308), and check out the revolutionary talks(http://www. socialismconference.org/talks) .
The total cost for the three day conference and trip to Chicago, before fundraising, is $230.00 (not including food). Individually register HERE (http://www. socialismconference.org/ register) for $95. The remaining $135 can then be added to our Paypal account, click the donate button on this page at the top right (that’s for van rental, gas, and hotel in Chicago). If you are interested in going, or have already registered, please contact Vickie at (352) 562-1386, email: gainesvilleiso@gmail.com or check out our facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ event.php?eid=152660598127485) . Don’t miss the chance to meet with thousands of others just like you who are searching to build an alternative to a system of greed, racism, war and oppression.
If you interested in the conference, but cannot make it, those who are going are struggling poor students and working class people. Those who go to this conference will come back more informed and inspired to get involved in local action, so your donation is like an investment in our community. Make a donation by clicking the "Donate" button at the top right of the screen to aide in bringing serious activists to promote local and national social change. If you prefer to not donate through Paypal, you can send your donation to:

Everywhere we look in the world there are revolutions and struggles that are challenging dictatorship, economic inequality, and oppression. From Cairo to Madison, these struggles show us that "another world is possible." But they also raise questions about what ideas, strategies, and tactics are necessary to carry the struggle forward, so join the Gainesville International Socialist Organization and come to Chicago!
